Health Signals

The Weekly Engagement Health Signal board and Monthly Retrospective — the client-side feedback loop that tells you whether each placement is on track.

Weekly Engagement Health Signal

Every active deployment (status: Deputed) has a weekly health signal slot. The Account Manager responsible for the deployment logs the signal once per week by opening the deployment and going to the Health tab.

Signal levels

SignalMeaningNote required?
GreenPlacement is running smoothly. Communication is good, deliverables are on track, no open concerns from either side.Optional
AmberA concern exists that needs attention — a communication gap, a deliverable that slipped, a client concern raised informally.Required
RedThe placement is at risk. An active problem requires immediate escalation — direct client complaint, repeated missed expectations, or relationship breakdown.Required

Amber and Red signals require a mandatory note explaining the specific concern. This note is what makes the history useful — it creates a searchable record of what was happening at each point in the placement's life.

Signal history

The Health tab on a deployment shows the full week-by-week signal history as a timeline. This history is the data you use to spot trends — a placement that has been Amber for three consecutive weeks is in a different category than one with a single Amber in an otherwise Green history.

Global dashboard

The main dashboard displays a "Flagged Placements" count showing how many active deployments are currently rated Amber or Red. The placement grid uses color badges to indicate each placement's current signal level at a glance.

Action Center — pending health updates

Any Deputed deployment that has not had a health signal logged in the past 7 days appears in the Action Center under "Pending Weekly Health Updates." This count is visible to Master Admins and Account Managers for their assigned clients.

The cadence is a rolling 7 days — if a signal was logged on Monday and it is now Tuesday of the following week, the placement will appear in the Action Center.

Monthly Retrospective

In addition to the weekly signal, TalentDesk provides a Monthly Retrospective logger per client. A retrospective is a structured account review that captures:

  • Review period (month and year)
  • What went well
  • Concerns that emerged during the period
  • Actions taken or planned
  • Focus areas for the coming month

Retrospectives are logged from the client detail page under the Account Health tab. The full history is available for review and export. This is the data you bring to a monthly client check-in call — a structured record that prevents account reviews from being reactive.

Tip. The combination of weekly signals and monthly retrospectives gives you two layers of client health data. The signal board is high-frequency and low-effort. The retrospective is lower-frequency but structured and comprehensive. Together they prevent both drift (missed by weekly signals) and loss of institutional memory (missed by not writing anything down).
